International decorator to create public spaces at waterfront condo
Ability by Acierto has named Adriana Hoyos as interior decorator at Bijou Bay Harbor. Known throughout the Americas for her luxury interior design work, Hoyos will oversee decor in all public spaces at the planned boutique-style waterfront condominium development in Bay Harbor Islands.
Hoyos and her team will create the owner’s lounge overlooking the water, the rooftop bar with its infinity edge pool, barbeque and fire pit lounge, and other common areas. She has already created the 2,000-square-foot sales center and model showroom.
“Given the international clientele Bijou Bay Harbor will attract, we’re the perfect match for one another,” said Hoyos, creative director of A.H. Design Studio in Miami’s Design District. “Between the soft finishes, colors, furnishings and accessories, we’re matching fresh and natural visuals in designing the space to create a never-before-seen dynamic that will bring sophistication to the address and elevate this property to exclusive levels.”
A Colombian native raised in Ecuador, Hoyos’ international furniture and interior design aesthetic are rooted in Latin American style. Inspired by her culture and her extensive travel, Hoyos’ work at Bijou Bay Harbor will reflect both nature and the island lifestyle.
“Timeless and classic with a sense of simplicity, no other decorator could capture the essence of what Bijou Bay Harbor will bring to the Miami marketplace quite like Adriana can,” said Andres Arias, president of new developments for Ability by Acierto. “Whether she’s incorporating bleached woods from the Amazon or soft goods from around the world, Adriana’s touch will create an unparalleled product in the market.”
Respected internationally, Hoyos’ work has been showcased in Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Florida Design, Inside Out, Hola Decoracion and Vanidades. She has been featured on CNN and is the recipient of several awards and recognitions.
This is the latest news for Bijou Bay Harbor. In February 2015, Ability by Acierto acquired the prime parcel for $8.5 million. The planned nine-story building from architects Luis Revuelta and Charles H. Benson will offer casual luxury for young professionals and buyers from the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.
Bijou Bay Harbor will feature 41 private residences, including five penthouses, ranging from 900 to just over 2,000 square feet. With sales underway at the 2,000-square-foot sales center, prices begin in the mid-$600,000s and rise to $1.9 million for the penthouses. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2016.
Bijou Bay Harbor is the first South Florida development project from Ability by Acierto. The venture is a partnership between Conexo Inmobiliario, led by Andres Arias, and Acierto Inmobiliario, Colombia’s second largest developer. Headed by Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Acierto Inmobiliario has developed dozens of premier residential and commercial projects and millions of square feet of space across Colombia. Two marquee Medellín developments include Access Point, an exclusive four-tower office project, and Milla De Oro, an exclusive mixed-use project with office, retail and restaurants featuring the first Starbucks and Krispy Kreme in Medellín.
With Bijou Bay Harbor as its debut project, Ability by Acierto seeks to expand its development portfolio.
